Apprenticeship in Teaching Practice (Arabic Specialist and Generalist Routes)

An intensive professional learning and development programme that covers key areas needed to fulfil the essential requirements of Competence to Teach.

This programme is delivered in Arabic language and participants study and engage in theories and principles of teaching and learning through completing the following units:

  • Learning Theories
  • Classroom management
  • Student centered learning
  • Lesson Planning
  • Differentiation
  • Assessment for learning
  • Giving feedback
  • Questioning in the classroom
  • Inclusive Classrooms
  • Situated Cognition

If teachers, on the Apprenticeship in teaching Practice, choose to enroll in the Generalist Route, they will be trained on and engage in conducting an action research project. This engagement is aimed at developing their problem solving skills and addressing any challenges that they meet in their schools and classrooms in a scientific way.

If teachers choose to enroll in the Specialist Arabic Route, they participate in an immersive and intensive training module on the following areas:

  • Arabic Language Awareness
  • Arabic Language pedagogy

The Apprenticeship in Teaching Practice – Arabic Specialist Route is delivered in partnership with The Sharek Centre, London, one of the foremost Arabic language and culture institutes.
