Teacher Training

Teach Best – ATP

A teacher training apprenticeship route leading a UAE teaching qualification

Teaching qualification awarded

Applied Graduate Diploma in Teaching Practice (ATP), endorsed by KHDA and TELLAL.

The ATP is a UAE Level 7 qualification and is an approved qualification for Teacher Competence (leading to teacher approval by KHDA and ADEK).

Course overview

This School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) route is for those who are completely new to teaching, or have very limited teaching experience, and who aspire to be a qualified teacher in the UAE. It is also an appropriate route for existing, unqualified teachers who are rated as “acceptable” against the UAE National Standards, and are seeking a national-level qualification (including portability across the different UAE emirates).

As a schools-led programme, teaching trainees benefit from working within the school environment throughout their training for a total of 120 days. All trainee teachers are assigned a mentor, in addition to the on-placement support from teaching peers and practitioners.

As part of the programme, all trainees receive preparation for the TELS UAE Teacher Competence assessments.

Exceptional candidates demonstrating high quality experience, could be accepted onto a salaried route assuming whole class responsibilities from day 1, following an immersive 4-week experience linking theory and practice.

Note: Trainees wishing to graduate with an internationally recognised qualification should opt for the Teach Best iPgCTP route. Not sure which route is right for you? Simply, contact us and one of our advisors will talk you through your available options.
