Early Years Specialist Route Teacher Training Programmes

Fully accredited and internationally recognised teaching qualifications.

What are the Early Years Teacher Training Programmes?

The Early Years (EY) Teacher Training Programmes are fully accredited and internationally recognised teaching qualifications offered by TELLAL. These apprenticeships are delivered via a practice-based pathway known as School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT).

With training placements starting from day one, our trainees have the opportunity to put teaching theory into practice in an Early Years setting immediately, and gain invaluable understanding of the school environment and teaching profession.

Who are the Early Years Teacher Training Programmes for?

The Early Years Teacher Training Programmes are for individuals looking to pursue a career in Early Years education. These maybe:

  • Aspiring teachers who hold a university degree, wanting to enter the teaching profession in a school. They may include existing Early Years practitioners in a nursery or Early Years setting, looking for better career development opportunities
  • Experienced teachers who do not hold a teaching qualification but who require one to meet the UAE’s teacher competence requirements

Early Years Teacher Training Route Overview

10 months | Blended

The Early Years Teacher Training route programme structure:

Module 1

Theory and principles of teaching and learning

Module 2*

Early Years pedagogy

Module 3

Professional placement in an educational setting

The programme is delivered through a mix of intensive face-to-face sessions, online learning and on-going practice, all of which are tied to the UAE Teaching Standards.
As part of their studies, learners are encouraged to co-plan and co-teach lessons, observe one another’s lessons, and critically reflect and report on their own and other’s performance. This reflective and collaborative approach culminates in goal setting and action planning around key areas for development.

*In partnership with Little GEMS International

TELLAL delivers Module 2 of the Early Years Teacher Training routes at Little GEMS International Preschool,an outstanding Early Years setting catering to children aged 0 – 4 years in Dubai. This allows learners to be fully immersed in the Early Years environment during the course and incorporates prospects for placement in younger year classes. Learners have the opportunity to work alongside Early Years pedagogues who are backed by extensive global experience.
