Teacher Preparation for Competence (TP4C)

TELLAL’s Teacher Preparation for Competence (TP4C) programme offers teachers an opportunity to understand the KHDA teacher permit process in addition to conducting an online needs analysis to inform their strengths and areas for development. This programme also offers teachers an in-depth deconstruction of their competence in respect to the UAE Teacher Standards. Integral to this process is the scaffolding of critical reflection towards completing a reflective statement as a requirement of the Teacher Permit process.

The TP4C programme starts by identifying gaps in a teacher’s knowledge, experience and qualifications, and then suggesting appropriate courses, modules and training to bridge those gaps.

The Teacher Preparation for Competence (TP4C) programme comprises:

  • Overview of the Teacher Competence process to ensure teachers understand what is required of them
  • Online Needs Analysis module to identify development priorities against the UAE Teacher Standards
  • Access to an ePortfolio to collate evidence of competencies over time
  • Training on writing reflective statements
