In an interview with Education Journal Middle East, Tellal’s Dr Linda Rush updates the UAE education community on the institute’s progress since its launch in July 2016.
Featured in the April issue of Education Journal Middle East, Tellal’s Senior Vice President, Linda Rush, talks to journalist Parinaaz Navdar and talks about Tellal’s and journey so far. The in-depth interview gives an overview of Tellal’s offering and mission, and lays out the Tellal approach to teacher training, in the context of UAE teacher certification and the wider global education demands and standards. Dr Rush also talks about Tellal’s proactive but selective use of digital technologies such as avatar simulations and online learning environments to further the learning experience.
The article goes on to discuss the findings and success of the teacher training pilot which is currently running within the GEMS school network. Finally, Dr Rush talks at length about the recruitment, screening and selection process for teacher training applicants for 2017-18, while emphasising the pressing need for Tellal to help fill the growing shortage of teachers in the region by recruiting up to 1,000 trainee teachers in the next academic year.
