The global pandemic presented many challenges for early years teachers during the distant learning period, but perhaps one of the most perplexing was how to assess learning in the early years using a blended approach. This session will share some of the approaches taken by early years teachers to ensure that assessment is ongoing during online distant learning, the successes and the challenges faced. It will explore integrated systems for assessment including consideration of the role of parents, Teaching Assistants, and technologies in ensuring valid and reliable assessment evidence to inform data.
