A refresher session for Teachers and Teaching Assistants who are new to the Early Years (Age 2-6) or who want to know more.

If you’re struggling with knowing your social constructivist learning theory from your ecological systems learning theory, then this session is for you. You will receive a brief history of child development and an introduction to different learning theories and models. Participants will be encouraged to identify the learning theories that best align with their current practice and will identify those learning theories and methods that are currently ‘on trend’.

Learning Objectives:

1.     Know child development and learning theories; the history, application and current perspectives

2.     Understand which theories your current methods and approaches align with and articulate your own pedagogical beliefs
